From a van in 2014 to 4,353+ vehicles
Panache Tuning was founded by Steven Farrelly in 2014 — not in a workshop, but in a van. Steven started out offering mobile engine carbon cleaning across the North West, driving to customers’ homes and driveways with his own equipment and building the business from the ground up.
The move into remapping came a few years in. An associate with ten years’ experience behind him took Steven on as a student, showing him how proper file work differs from the off-the-shelf remaps that were everywhere at the time. Four years of constant training and learning followed, covering not just the tuning side but the diagnostics work that matters just as much — fault codes, sensor behaviour, understanding why a car or van is misbehaving before you ever touch the map.
By 2018 the skills and the customer base were enough to support a workshop. Steven opened Panache’s first unit in Wigan and ran it for six years, then in 2024 the business moved to its current home at 186b Manchester Road, Ince — a bigger space, but the same approach to every job.
Twelve years on from that first carbon-clean van, we’ve now worked on over 4,353 vehicles. The workshop does most of the work now, but the mobile service is still very much there — plenty of our customers still prefer us coming to them.

In-house, every time
No files get sent off to a third-party “master tuner” you’ve never heard of — we write the files ourselves, and every remap, diagnostic and carbon clean is done in our workshop, by us. If something isn’t right, there’s one number to call and one person accountable.

Meet Steven
Steven started Panache in 2014 with mobile carbon-cleaning equipment and a plan to learn the job properly before he ever touched an ECU. That meant four years working alongside a mentor with a decade of remapping experience — writing files, rewriting them, learning how and why a vehicle responds the way it does. Twelve years in, we’re still learning something new on a regular basis, and that’s not a bad thing.
He’s still the one doing the work. Every car or van that comes in gets Steven’s attention from fault-finding through to the test drive before the keys go back to you.

Customers returning for another service because they’ve changed their car or van is great. You know you’re doing something right when the same customer is back for the fifth or sixth time.”
